Definitely feels parking lot oriented. Connection to transit, school, and 111ave is weak.Anyone tried to walk here from Westmount Transit Centre or Mall? Big failure! There is a narrow winding sidewalk, but most people take the direct route and risk their lives walking with cars right behind the school.
Imagine having to walk across a parking lot!? How do you get from your car to Safeway or Canadian tire? I literally needed someone to carry my stroller 2ft in the air with me through the parking lot when this first opened as the parking lot was so bad. Wouldn’t be an issue with a simple design change.
Brewery district has some. Lots of new neighbourhood renewals feature them. 132ave. The ones I saw in abbotsford were literally just concrete sidewalk and subtle slopes. Is there examples of that in the city already? Seems tricky in edmonton’s climate when you think of snow removal.
