Marriott would have had to have been dimmy-dunce-dork to have not signed a lock-out agreement with ICE vis-a-vis hotel possibilities; I don't know this for certain, but if there is to be a new hotel being announced it would almost certainly have to be a Marriott property (no Alt, no Westin)... I am all in on a Marriott property mixed with Residential (most likely) or Office (if there is another goody who wants to be downtown... and there are a few). Anyway, I maintain that downtown Edmonton has a bright future and some of the projects yet to be announced over the upcoming years will surely astound!

I'm in for 38 storey mixed use with a Marriott brand.

In keeping with the Bank District theme, there will be at least one ATM on site, but possibly two.

Westin is owned by Marriot.

Marriott International is owned by Americans - shouldn't we be boycotting it? Perhaps they should get a GreenTree or H World which are Chinese hotel chains.

I could see that as well - I know Marriott is looking for a potential relocation of the Courtyard by Marriott hotel (that was a former office that was converted to a hotel, so not purpose-built)...
I want Marriott out, the space to get gutted, and the best patio in the city to get the operator it truly deserves.

I'll throw a hail mary on the wishlist: Servus ditches the suburban campus and comes downtown.
