As I was told after my 3rd time complaining about the 156st and 95ave intersection, and sending multiple videos of 3 minute cycles with less than 5 cars going through:

“Traffic signal design is done by a professional engineer and includes best practices to achieve optimum traffic flow while maintaining the highest safety possible safety standards.

Signal timing is part of an engineered design that is approved by the city and cycle lengths are designed in coordination with opposing intersection timing.”

So it seems like they’re super open to feedback…

I've noticed that since 104 Ave was fully reopened, many folks who are turning from 104 Ave WB to 112 St SB are making U-turns onto 104 Ave EB just to go to the Tim Horton's drive-thru. Isn't that against the law, or am I out to lunch?

Yeah, I’m hoping that puts us on a slippery slope to add gates at all crossings west of WEM Station and south of Davies Station, and hopefully improve speeds. The current council seems resistant to the idea though.

The thing with gates is it brings full signal priority, so reducing delays, even with low traffic volumes it can still slow down trains.
 
I'm guessing that the Marigold crew will be clearing snow from some of the track beds this week, and possibly some tarp covers for track bed prep.
 
Reopen the lanes, just to close them again. Doing trackbed in that area doesn’t even require lane closures either
 
There are probably trucks and other vehicles with construction workers in the right lane, along with any possible staging.
 
Idk they’ve had those lanes closed for 2 full construction seasons. Seems excessive, plus they could have just waited till spring, or poured the concrete in the fall? It’s not like they’ve made huge progress since end of November, all they’ve done is work on the switch and put up some Davit arms
