I agree with you both, though this display of electric alleyway is not in the mix (hopefully), for the full build out of South Park, romantic or not!

It's horrific compared to what was originally proposed. I understand economics and plans can change, but this is so disappointing for such a important lot on one of our most vibrant streets. It really doesn't set a good precedent for future projects on Whyte in my opinion.

To quote BB King "the thrill is gone"! Come on people, this is so basic as to be boring... I know we are all looking past this to the magic of more enlightened design for high-rises and enlivening of the alley, but this is the kind of project (as presented) that says "only live here if you have to and so what if we never lease up the ground floor space -- you know maybe we can interest a bank or a law office to consider moving here." Jeeze this is so depressing as to make me want to retch! Give me the defense for this "good enough for Edmonton project."

I definitely like the first renders of phase 2, potentially an excellent development. New renders of phase 1 (West) are good in my opinion , but lack clarity on materials/realistic look. Haven't seen any new renders of 82 Ave East (phase 1 B. ?), hopefully we will learn more this Saturday
