July 11 - digging has resumed!

Well big thanks to the construction workers of the Symphony tower! My Fiancee's car stalled right by the ledge tunnel and as I was pulling up 5 of the guys from the site ran over and pushed the car out of the middle of the road for her! Sign man and all, stopped traffic and everything.

Wonder if they would have done that for me... vs a pretty blonde haha.

Haha truth, but I had just pulled up behind to help. So they dispersed quickly.

Slowest dig ever, man alive that tie back bs must be a nightmare.

As deep as the excavation is going on the toe of an extreme slope, I expect that the engineers had presumed the need for "soil nails" all along. They will help take the lateral pressure off of the completed structure. It looks to me like they have a double row of soil nails near the bottom of the excavation on the north side of the pit.
