A Calgary Trail landmark is about to undergo a bit of a transformation after picking up a prominent tenant; Clark Builders is leasing three floors in Manulife Real Estate's office building at 5555 Calgary Trail, known as the Weber Centre.

Manulife is working with DIALOG on the $5-million modernization project, which includes a reclad of the building's exterior. The new cladding replaces yellowing precast panels with what appears to be largely white panelling with some variation in shades on the upper levels, lending a pixelated look to those floors.

Permits filed with the city also indicate that Clark intends to construct interior stairs between the floors it is leasing. Some improvements to the parkade are also part of the modernization project to the 39-year-old building complex.

The modernization project is expected to be complete by the end of 2020.
