One month since breaking ground, and excavation work at the future site of Westrich Pacific's The View is now underway. Controversial in part owing to the removal of two heritage-esque homes from the site, the 24-storey condo project will bring a significant amount of height and density to the swiftly-changing Oliver neighbourhood.

Located midway between 99 and 100 Ave NW along 111 St NW, just two blocks south of Jasper Ave, and a brisk walk away from the River Valley, The View will place residents within striking distance of both the core and the natural beauty of the North Saskatchewan River. Close thus to transit (Grandin LRT), shops, restaurants, and nature, the project will more than likely be a popular one among first time buyers and urban professionals.

Designed by Chris Dikeakos Architects and Stantec, the 178-unit residential high-rise will be clad almost entirely in glass, save for the exterior of its double-height entryway and lobby space, which will be faced in brick. Amenities will include a fitness centre, rooftop lounge and sundeck, private car service, and ample bicycle spaces.

Despite the controversy that defined its early history, it would appear the The View is on track to become a fine addition to the area, its height and density to bring an increase in urban vibrancy to Oliver.
