The Modernist-style Yorath House (1949) has been fully restored by the City of Edmonton, and is now open for business as a publicly-accessible short-term rental property. Nestled in the heart of Buena Vista Park, the Modernist masterpiece was sold by the Yorath family to the City in 1992, and designated a Municipal Historic Resource in 2015.

Close thus to Sir Wilfrid Laurier Park, and the Edmonton Valley Zoo, Yorath House has loads to recommend it in terms of its sprawling, natural setting. Indeed, the impact of the local landscape can be felt within and without the majority of the home, its heavy reliance upon natural materials a testament to the raw beauty of the Prairies.

While the essence of the original exterior has been restored, the interior of the home has been thoroughly modernized, the space re-imagined as a series of public meeting rooms and special events venues. Available for private functions (weddings, etc) and corporate events (conferences, etc), the various spaces within the Yorath House are now publicly accessible - with availability and rates found here.
