A long-awaited project in Westmount is now underway, as ground has been broken on Glenora Park, a 22-storey residential high-rise building for seniors developed by ONE Properties and Revera Living.

A development permit for the project was issued in April, as has a building permit for the footings and foundation, which were approved in July for the project formerly known as Clifton Place. Shoring rigs and steel beams have been spotted working on site, preparing the land ahead of excavation.

Once complete, the Wallman Architects-designed 82-metre tower will provide 290 units for senior living and care. The tower's location, overlooking the Groat Ravine, will provide future residences with sweeping views of the river valley and the city's west end, while proximity to major transit routes and amenities should make Glenora Park an attractive option for seniors.
