One month since we last checked in on Augustana, and progress upon the 30-storey project has moved ahead significantly. The residential high-rise by Pangman Development and DIALOG now stands at close to 2/3 its final 96-metre height, it to not be long now before the project tops off.

One of several Government District-area projects now in the works, Augustana will soon deliver upwards of 300 residents to the neighbourhood. Consisting of 230 units, Augustana will be a high-density project, the pedestrian and urban vibrancy that it will represent to be a major boon to the area just west of the core.

Having risen from the site of the former Augustana Lutheran Church, the tower is representative of the new face of Edmonton. In particular, it would seem that projects of this scale will be the new norm for areas such as the Government District, which already have much of the infrastructure in place to accommodate them.

Once complete, Augustana will be a fine addition to the core, its prime location to be a major draw for buyers.

SkyriseEdmonton will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
