A month since our last update, and progress at The MacLaren has been speeding swiftly along. Moving towards completion, both the tower and heritage facsimile at ground level are today looking all but finished, as the last few touches get underway.

Starting with the 27-storey, 240-unit, residential tower by DIALOG, the high-rise component is looking nearly ready for occupancy. All but a few of the last decorative panels have yet to be installed, the glazing and cladding work now virtually complete.

Down at street level, there appears to be a bit more work yet to go, especially upon the new build portion of the project's retail component. As for the heritage component, the former face of the Buena Vista Apartments/Glenora Bed & Breakfast Inn has been restored in full, right down to the "ghost" signage that long graced the exposed interior side of the original structure.

Standing tall at the corner of 124 St NW and 102 Ave NW, The MacLaren will soon be a key part of the neighbourhood's ongoing urban transformation - the cafe, retail, and heritage components to go a long way towards ensuring the development's future success.

SkyriseEdmonton will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
