A 13-story residential tower has been recently approved for the Westmount neighbourhood. To be built on an empty lot at the corner of 123 St NW and 106 Ave NW, 10549 123 Street received a Development Permit from the City on July 23rd.
The project, by ANU Developments and Gardner Architecture, is set to bring 148 new residential units to the area, including six townhouse units located at ground-level, and a private amenity space on the podium roof.
Situated between the popular 124 Street commercial area to the west, and the new Brewery District to the east, the future residents of this development will be ideally located within walking distance of some of the best shopping and dining experiences available in the city.
Unlike many larger projects currently proposed for the vicinity, which are or have gone through a DC2 rezoning process to enable taller buildings and more units, this project is being built under the site's existing RA9 zoning which allows for modestly-sized towers of this scale.
With the permit approval, the proposal could see groundbreaking soon.
SkyriseEdmonton will continue to watch this project and follow its progress. What do you think of this proposal? Leave a comment below, or join the conversation in our discussion forum. You can also find more information in the project database.
