The People's Choice Award is a category of the City of Edmonton's "Missing Middle" Infill Design Competition, which will remain open for voting until May 3, 2019. The winning entry will win $500 cash, along with the option to purchase the relevant 5-lot parcel of land from the City upon which they can build their creation.

All of the finalists can be viewed here, with voting available here. A quick perusal through the top 25 reveals a great deal of innovation and variety, with some schemes more avant garde, while others remain closer to contemporary architectural sensibilities.

As for the exact location of the Spruce Avenue infill plot, the address is posted as the NE corner of 112 Ave and 106 St. Depending on the results, and if the winner takes the chance to make their vision become a reality, the initiative could very well see a small corner of the city transformed.
