Six weeks since our last update, and progress at Encore Tower has been swift, the 43-storey high-rise now nearing its final height. Having risen at least 35 levels above grade, it will not be long before the Westrich Pacific-developed, and Dub Architects-designed tower tops off.

Located downtown, at the corner of 103 St NW and 102 Ave NW, the well-situated high-rise will place residents within easy walking distance to several major attractions, including the City Centre Mall, YMCA, the shops of Jasper Ave, and the hustle and bustle of the nearby ICE District. Set to deliver upwards of 250 residents spread across 179 units, Encore Tower will be a major boost to the pedestrian and urban vibrancy that now exists at ground level.

As the tower continues to rise, so to has the ascent of more and more glass and spandrel glazing and paneling, which has kept pace with construction. Less than a dozen floors behind, it will only be a matter of weeks before the bulk of the 138-metre tower is completely clad.

Moving in for a closer look, the scope of the work can be well appreciated, the open air units soon to be covered in glass. Once complete, Encore Tower will be an excellent addition to the core, the influx of hundreds of new people into the city centre to help bring a more vibrant, more metropolitan vibe to downtown Edmonton.

SkyriseEdmonton will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
