The City of Edmonton will be hosting a public drop-in information session on May 1 in regards to the the proposed Gorman Neighbourhood Structure Plan. To be held at the Bethel Community Church (14204 25 St NW) from 6-8PM, the drop-in event will be an excellent way for interested members of the public to learn about the City's plans for Gorman. According to the City of Edmonton's website for the project, the proposal seeks to prepare Gorman for the future, including plans for an LRT stop, mixed-use Town Centre, community centre, high school, and business/industrial uses to the north of the district.

Predicting a future population of 8,200, the Gorman Neighbourhood Structure Plan represents a comprehensive effort by the City to ensure that the area's growth and development unfolds in a way that makes sense for all involved. To these ends, additions such as the aforementioned LRT stop and Town Centre, in addition to a new system of parks and pathways, will likely serve the neighbourhood well. Considering the large scope of the project, it will be of the utmost importance for city staff and urban planners to connect with, and receive feedback from, those who live in and near the area.
