An exciting batch of new renderings has been released for Mackenzie Tower by LEMAYMICHAUD Architecture Design, as sleuthed by members of our Forum. A big thanks goes out to Forum contributor Kaizen for posting a best-of collection of shiny new renderings for Edmonton's favourite new speculative tower.
Proposed for 10145 104 St NW in downtown Edmonton, the 35-storey, mixed-use Mackenzie Tower would rise from amidst a collection of early 20th century warehouses. In an effort thus to ease the tower into its surroundings, the inclusion of a three-storey podium level and setback tower portion has been incorporated into the design.
The latest renderings focus on this aspect in addition to others, including the inset condo amenity level, located roughly at the tower's midpoint (above), which will play host to a range of creature comforts including a gym and full service lounge. Serving as a buffer between the upper floor condo units above, and the hotel rooms and lobby below, the condo amenity deck will be accessible only to permanent residents.
Down at street level, the ALT Hotel lobby will take up residence within the three-storey podium, which will be joined by some form of ground-floor cafe or lounge. Altogether, plans for Mackenzie Tower have been successful in capturing the imaginations of Edmontonians of all stripes, its sleek design and stature more than enough to generate a good deal of local buzz.
