While to many, Stantec Tower represents an A-plus addition to the Edmonton skyline, recent photos on our Forum appear to show what can only be described as a large "F" temporarily poised close to the top of the tower. Consisting of little more than a coincidence, as crews begin to remove outer wrappings from the facade, sightings of the giant letter has sparked a great deal of conversation (and puns) among our most devoted readership.
With glass now covering nearly every square inch of the facade, right up to the three-storey mechanical penthouse, views of the structure have begun to take on a different vibe. Nearly complete, and monolithic in its glassy, glossy, rectilinear glory, Stantec Tower has become a major fixture upon the Edmonton skyline.
The 251-metre, 66-storey, Stantec Tower, combining space for 1,500 employees alongside 483 condos, plus a mix of retail, dining, and a host of other services, is slated to transform more than just the skyline - bringing a real sense of immediacy to the recent intensification of the city's core. Confidently urban, and increasingly metropolitan, Edmonton has a lot to be thankful for in terms of the positive impacts that developments such as this have brought to the core over the last half-decade.
Visible from every corner of the city, Stantec Tower and its growing list of high-rise neighbours have brought about an inescapable sense of change to the city.
SkyriseEdmonton will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
