Three months since we last checked in at The MacLaren, and progress has been speeding ahead, the 27-storey tower now very close to topping off. Cladding has progressed as well, with windows and spandrel panels now to be found along the entire height of the tower.

While the heritage retrofit at the base of the project remains under wraps, the rest of the development has been moving along swiftly. This being said, it will be a momentous day for many Edmontonians and local photogs, when the coverings come off and the facsimile facade of the old Glenora Bed & Breakfast Inn (Buena Vista Apartments) is finally revealed.

Up top, it appears that it will not be long now before this project tops off and the crane comes down. As viewed in the images above and below, the aforementioned cladding and glazing work has been making steady progress, thereby giving onlookers a very good idea of the final product as envisioned by Edgar Development and DIALOG

Located at the corner of 124 St NW and 102 Ave NW, the 240-unit residential high-rise will meet the street with a continuous strip of ground floor retail and a cafe. Part of a bustling older neighbourhood, complete with fine grain retail and a high degree of walkabiliity, The MacLaren will likey be an excellent fit, its density, retail inclusion, and heritage component to help ease the 27-storey high-rise into its surroundings.

SkyriseEdmonton will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
