Six weeks since our last update, and progress at the site of the HSBC Bank Place Revitalization has been moving along nicely. Cladding has been coming down quickly over the last few weeks, the 38-year-old, 19-storey, office tower now missing a great deal of its former glass curtain wall.

Situated downtown at the corner of 101 St NW and 103 Ave NW, the 317,000 square-foot office tower was purchased in 2017 by AIMCo (Alberta Investment Management Company), who will eventually be taking over floors 11-19. The revamped tower will be LEED Gold certified, the office space itself to be upgraded from Class A to AA.

The reimagined tower has been spearheaded by DIALOG, the new exterior to be re-clad in new glass, its podium level to be totally redone. The tower's improved street presence will feature a large, open lobby and main entranceway which will interact with its surroundings much better than the current setup.

Located in the core, and thus easy walking distance to transit, shops, restaurants, Jasper Ave, and the ICE District, the new and improved tower will likely be a popular commercial address for years to come.

SkyriseEdmonton will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
