Three months since our last update, and progress at the site of Hat at Five Corners by Cidex Group has been moving along swiftly. Standing at roughly a quarter of its full 24-storey height, the 199-unit residential tower will soon welcome home upwards of 275 residents.

Located at the nexus of Edmonton's Five Corners (Jasper Ave X2, 102 Ave NW, and 95 St NW X2), the development sits between the Boyle Street and Riverdale neighbourhoods just east of the core. For those looking to commute downtown, Hat at Five Corners is just ten minutes on foot to Churchill Station, or fifteen directly into the financial district.

The residential tower will sit atop a two-storey retail podium, to be known as "The Corners," which will provide a number of local services for residents and their neighbours. Having replaced a longstanding parking lot, the project will be a boon to the area, bringing in a significant amount of pedestrian vibrancy and local foot traffic.

Making the best of a traditionally difficult intersection, Hat at Five Corners will be a positive addition, part of the downtown east side's slow but steady rise to prominence.

SkyriseEdmonton will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
