Alberta Health Services (AHS) has released a series of new renderings for the $364-million CapitalCare Norwood Expansion project. Located at the corner of 106 St NW and 111 Ave NW, in North Central Edmonton, immediately north of the Royal Alexandra Hospital, the new 40,000 square-foot facility will specialize in continuing care and post-acute care.

Set to encompass several blocks along 111 Ave NW from 106 St NW to 102 Ave, the CapitalCare Norwood facility will be comprised of two new buildings. The largest (above and below), will be a seven-storey, 350-patient health centre, equipped with the latest in healthcare tech and community support.

Services provided here will include a special dental clinic, community paramedic program, CHOICE (seniors), hemodialysis, pulmonary rehabilitation, respiratory outreach, and education/support for continuing care and research.

In addition to the large Y-shaped facility, there will also be a much smaller two-storey component (above), which will take the form of a new clinic. Together, the expansion will form a replacement to the 55-year old North Pavilion, thus beginning a new chapter for the district.

SkyriseEdmonton will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
