When we last checked in at the site of Cidex Group's Hat @ Five Corners back in May, the massive site was still sitting well below grade. Fast-forward to today, and the soon-to-be 24-storey, 199-unit residential tower has poked above grade, the structure now visible from many different vantage points.

Located at the confluence of Edmonton's Five Corners (Jasper Ave X2, 102 Ave NW, and 95 St NW X2), the aptly named Hat @ Five Corners will place residents between Boyle Street and Riverdale, just a few blocks east of the downtown core - only a 13-minute walk to Central Station.

Viewed in detail above, reinforced concrete support posts now dwarf the construction workers on-site, the rise of the elevator shaft now a prominent feature as well.

Replacing a collection of vacant lots, the planned ground floor retail podium will help animate this traditionally difficult intersection just a stone's throw away from the relative pedestrian vibrancy of downtown.

SkyriseEdmonton will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
