Ready to rise from the corner of 107 St NW and 99 Ave NW in downtown Edmonton, the Augustana Church Redevelopment project, known today as the Augustana, has now completed excavation work and begun its ascent. Replacing the longtime digs of the 1953-built Augustana Lutheran Church, the aptly named Augustana will become a beacon of another sort, the 30-storey apartment tower to bring between 224-240 much-needed rental units to the core.

With the crane base installed, it will only be a matter of weeks before a series of pours begin to see the project rise five storeys up to grade. Set to become the subterranean home of the Augustana's 148-space underground parkade, the large pit will soon become a hive of activity as crews intensify their efforts in the months to come.

Designed by DIALOG for Pangman Development Corporation, the tower will include a three-storey podium base with ground-level retail and amenity spaces hosted above.

A brisk walk from Corona Station on Jasper Ave, residents will be well-connected to downtown, as well as the banks of the North Saskatchewan River and its intricate path system, which can be accessed to the south.

SkyriseEdmonton will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
