Today's Throwback Thursday feature  brings us back to a time not long ago, when getting to and from class at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) was a real pain for the 25,000 students, faculty, and staff, who call it home. Before the debut of the Metro Line LRT and thus of NAIT Station, located along Princess Elizabeth Ave NW, commuting to NAIT meant either driving or taking a tedious mix of slow, local buses, before finally arriving at one's final destination.

Opened on September 6, 2015, the Metro Line LRT has been a transformative - if at times still technically challenging - piece of transit infrastructure for the city, connecting several of Edmonton's largest post-secondary institutions, including NAIT, MacEwan University, and the University of Alberta to one another and to downtown.

Viewed above, NAIT Station, which for now serves as well as the northern terminus of the Metro LRT Line,     delivers passengers to NAIT Arena, at the southern edge of campus. Future plans will hopefully see the line extended further north and south of the city centre.
