Topped off and ready for cladding, The Trax by Beck Developments is on target to bring 100 residential units online within the rapidly transforming Strathcona neighbourhood south of downtown. Set for completion by late 2018, the six-storey mixed use structure will feature five storeys of residential above a ground-level retail base fronting onto the corner of 101 St NW and 79 Ave NW, just blocks away from the bustling 82 Ave NW corridor.

Built in an "L" pattern befitting its corner lot, The Trax's units are arranged in two rows, with outfacing views either looking out onto the street, or in towards what will become the rear courtyard and parking lot behind the structure.

Currently a sleepy corner of Strathcona, tucked away by the CPR tracks and heavy rail junction that bisects the neighbourhood, the aptly named The Trax development seeks to animate the local streetscape with the addition of a multi-unit retail element as seen (albeit partly obscured by hoarding) in the image below.

Once complete, The Trax will likely bring a pedestrian boost to the area, the influx of new residents part of the ongoing urbanization of central Edmonton.

SkyriseEdmonton will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
