A month since our last update, and progress at the site of Cidex Group's Hat @ Five Corners designed by NORR Architects has been moving along nicely, with construction now approaching grade.

Viewed above and below, the site has received its first few cement pours, the crop of rebar poking up towards the centre ready to take the building higher towards street level. Long stalled, area residents will be glad to see the project finally making some real progress.

Set to rise to 24 storeys, the 199-unit residential tower will provide Edmonton's aptly named Five Corners neighbourhood with some much needed vibrancy, the intersection long the site of empty lots, and a less than inviting pedestrian environment.

Once complete, Hat @ Five Corners will hopefully encourage further development at the site, the addition of up to 300 new residents desirous of retail and other services to more than likely spark a chain reaction.

SkyriseEdmonton will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
