Westrich Pacific has returned to the table with a more palatable proposal for their property on 111 Street NW in Oliver following council's rejection of the original 28-storey version. Stantec presented the revised project to the Edmonton Design Committee on February 20, outlining a number of changes to the tower that the proponent hopes will lead to approval.

City staff recommended refusal of the 90-metre, 165-unit scheme last summer, citing the proposal's "overdevelopment of the site." According to Forum contributor Daveography, who attended the Edmonton Design Committee session, the new building reduces the volume by five floors, resulting in a 23-storey tower.

The unit count in the 75.5-metre building has increased by five to a total of 170. The developer has also acquired the rear laneway, allowing for a greater setback from 111 Street. An outdoor amenity space previously located on the rooftop has been relocated to the south side.

A material board showed the anticipated types of cladding that would wrap the Chris Dikeakos-designed proposal. Samples of brick veneer, architectural painted concrete, aluminum mullions, clear vision glass, and spandrel glass were provided for public view. The design is heavily influenced by a rhythmic arrangement of balconies, leading to a cantilevered crown atop the mechanical penthouse.
