A sloping metal parapet now installed at the top of Edmonton's new tallest building finishes the 56-storey structure, which is scheduled to officially grace the ICE District in early 2019. The mixed-use JW Marriott and The Legends Private Residences ushers in a new era for Downtown Edmonton, and despite reaching heights never-before-seen in the city, its reign at the top will be relatively short-lived.

As indicated by its name, the 191-metre-tall tower will host a four-star, 356-key JW Marriott on its first 22 floors. The upper levels, architecturally defined by curtain wall glazing and inset balconies, are where 261 condominiums will be settled. Additionally, the building will be home to the largest conference ballroom in the city, boasting 11,000 square feet of space and 20-foot ceilings.

The Hariri Pontarini Architects and DIALOG-designed building will soon be eclipsed by the under-construction Stantec Tower, which contains residences and office space. That tower will rise roughly an additional 60 metres to easily place first in Edmonton's tall tower ranking.
