Allen Wasnea Engineering's Symphony Tower has almost accomplished its 27-storey structural frame, and its lower levels have been enveloped in weather-protective sheeting to keep workers comfortable as they install interior fixtures. This enveloping fabric will no longer be needed as cladding is assembled over the concrete skeleton, and now, the first sign of the building skin has been spotted.

A lone translucent curtain wall glass panel was being hoisted into place on the first tower floor last Tuesday. Baby blue spandrel panels running the width of the glass cover the floor slabs of the KENNEDY-designed building. With only a few more floors to go until reaching its peak, vertical construction of the Symphony Tower has moved at a breakneck speed, having reaching grade in spring 2017.

The 143-unit residential development features a cascading series of blocks at the podium level adjacent to the pre-existing Foot House and Parkview Apartments properties, which have both been renovated. Marketed on Symphony's website as "the only new development in the Edmonton River Valley with condos, townhomes and penthouses," the project includes six townhomes, seven different floor plans across floors four through 17, and 12 additional floor plans from floors 18 to 27.

The property's landscaped grounds will include a courtyard, brick planters and a sculptural fountain that acts as a conversational artwork and forms part of the building's cooling system. Amenities, to be located on the fourth floor, feature a fitness facility, kitchen-equipped social room, and a rooftop garden lounge.
