After opening to motorists in September, the new Walterdale Bridge now boasts a dedicated pedestrian and cyclist connection. The span's adjacent shared-use path has been unveiled, giving users a protected, safe link across the river.

The City also turned on programmable, coloured lighting strips that showcase the parabolic form of each arch. Like the main span, the pathway features lighting accents, illuminating the edge of the route underneath the handrails. The last major element of the bridge, the shared-use path curves along the east side of the roadway. It also includes benches with high backs to shield those looking for respite from the wind.
