Last week's edition of Throwback Thursday delved into a portion of the 104th Street Promenade as it appeared nearly a decade ago. We focused specifically on the twin Icon Towers, built by Langham Developments in 2010. Just a few strides to the north, the local developer launched another twin tower project with the same architectural team behind the Icon complex. It's here, at the crossroads with 102 Avenue, that the KENNEDY-designed Fox Towers have surged high into the tapestry of the city.

The rectangular property was originally home to a surface parking lot. It became a staging site for construction as the first 28-storey tower jumped up into the skyline. In the throwback photo from June 2013, the below-grade levels of the first building were coming together.

By November, evidence of above-grade construction was visible, with concrete slabs and rebar poking out of the site. A blue-painted tower crane serviced construction as the tower made its rise adjacent to a parkade for the historic Revillon building.

After completing Fox One in 2015, the 33-storey second tower, containing 169 condominiums, has been attached to the first by a five-storey podium that recalls the historic brick warehouses of the area. Fox Two began construction in 2014 and recently completed.
