ICE District Properties — a joint venture between Katz Group and ONE Properties — has announced the name and additional details for the residential portion of Stantec Tower. SKY Residences will be situated across floors 30 through 66 in the 251-metre-tall skyscraper, which is slated to become the tallest building in Western Canada.

The announcement comes with a new website for the residences, which allows prospective buyers to register for more information and early access to by a unit in the tower. In addition to sweeping views of the city, residents will enjoy access to an exclusive amenities package that includes a business centre, indoor and outdoor lounge areas, a catering kitchen, a fitness centre and yoga studio, an enclosed dog run, bicycle storage, and an 11,000-square-foot rooftop terrace outfitted with an oversized hot tub, barbecue areas, and plenty of seating options.

In addition to the upper residential component, there will be a substantial office and retail mix within the complex. Stantec will set up their headquarters in the landmark tower on floors four through 21. PwC and global law firm Dentons have also snagged two full storeys, with the building's first two floors and the 28th level boasting office space that has not yet been leased.

Construction of the building has been well-documented in our Forum, with a cavalcade of images portraying the steady rise of the concrete floor plates. Reflective blue and black glazing and silver fins have wrapped much of the building's skeleton so far. The transition from the office component to the residences will be visually marked by a setback at level 30, where the floor plates will become significantly smaller. The office portion is expected to begin tenancy in 2018, with the residences delivered the following year.
