Edmonton’s kinistinâw Park is featured in the latest episode of Monocle Radio’s The Urbanist podcast, a weekly series that focuses on the built environment and cities we inhabit.

In this latest episode, Monocle’s Edmonton Correspondent Sheena Rossiter is joined by Jill Robertson, DIALOG Partner and landscape architect, Antonio Gomez-Palacio, DIALOG Chair, and Métis artist Tiffany Shaw, to discuss how the park is deeply rooted in community and context, weaving together Indigenous, Chinese, and European history.

The near-sculptural aspect of the built-form I have no beef with; perhaps some day the concept will prove itself when surrounding infrastructure is in place -- today it is "needle park". Conceptually the park precedes the reality -- what a shame.

Will this also have monitoring like on Whyte?
For $800,000 it freaking better, considering it’s a modular structure being moved onto site. You could rent a full size skidded washcar for 20 years for that money otherwise.
