Jasper Avenue New Vision / Imagine Jasper Avenue

The landscaping along that stretch of Jasper Ave looks great! I just hope it's maintained nicely so that it remains that way.

As a generalization, I don't think enough Edmonton businesses do a good enough job keeping the spaces in and around their premises swept, clean of garbage, and attractive (the same with many homeowners, haha)
With that, I acknowledge there are some businesses and organizations that go above and beyond to beautify and keep their properties looking great, in some cases in very challenging locations.

Even though these planters and landscaping are from the city, if it was outside my hotel or convenience store or salon, I would want to keep it looking clean and welcoming.

The new streetscape is really nice, but I hope that the city maintains it and makes sure it's looks clean as it ages!

Going west. Pretty much finished.

Not a fan of this podium. How is the rain water supposed to get to the tree?

This space needs some shade/trees. Also the covenant's parking is ugly.

I believe so, although I'd rather see they work 114-124st before (the state of the whole public realm around here is sad...)
Although wouldn't it be nice to get rid of the rest of the big green traffic lights, etc...

Since they are doing two sections at a time, couldn't they do that too for the next phase?

Indeed, I agree. Even though I'd rather they did either 102-109 st or 114 - 124 st all at once, would give a little bit more of a continuity sense.
To be honest, if the CoE had their contractors on a tight leash (and better planning), they could very well to the whole avenue all at once. Shouldn't take more than 2 construction seasons to do it, not in a city as big and wealthy as Edmonton.
The sluggish pace they have right now is reminiscent of mid-sized cities in Brazil...

My biggest issue is that they used asphalt hot mix to repair areas that were done in phase 1 along Jasper 100st and area and in front of commerce as well. They 'have a crew or two' who are suppose to return to correct those areas 'within 2 years' but from my experience they never return and so our fancy new Main Street already has pockmarks. The City also removed a couple of the new benches for work two years ago and never replaced them.

It simply does not instil confidence.
