Valley Line LRT/ Valley Line West | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

Whole purpose of my bike ride today was to see the new bridge. But my phone died right after taking the first pic below...too cold.

But I biked over to the muttart. It was pretty busy for being a colder day. 10-12 at all times on it. Art is beautiful. Paths look good from what I can tell with snow.

Can't wait for this whole thing to open. Really is a transformational project. Capital line south expansion was probably the last project that changed our city so much..

I asked some workers about the lack of benches on the Tawatina Bridge and they said those will likely be installed during the spring.

For those who gave money to the project. I couldn't find any names that begin with N to Z but I assume those will be forthcoming soon.

So the valley line west is going to enter total construction in mid 2022.
Also that bridge is amazing
Welcome to the forum! I'm looking forward to full construction starting; I hope that Marigold was "scared straight" by all of VLSE's delays and takes timeliness a bit more seriously. Perhaps this explains why they already started on drilling piles for the elevated guideways? Get through the "unknowns" involved with digging them now, and then when it gets warmer they'll be all ready to start pouring concrete.

With the West Valley Line, there won’t be any tunnels and any rivers to cross. The bridge across Groat Road will have to be replaced. Hopefully a staging area is in place for the WEM and Henday flyover construction.
Does Marigold have the contract to build the replacement bridge or has the City completed a procurement process for its replacement ?
