I guess they're going for a DC2 after all.

Seems like -- if these renderings are true to intent -- the tallest tower is more like 42 storeys than 64.

Indeed. This would qualify more as a bait and switch in my mind. 64 makes a sexier press release than 42 though! Marketing!

Wonder if 'luxury' wording they tossed around will mean they do some sort of central air instead of baseboard heating like the Icon and Fox towers largely have (other than Penthouse units, etc).

That 64 never really jived with the height anyway.

In any case, I am not about to complain about a potential 170m tower.
That's the thing though. 42s doesn't translate to 170m either, 64s might have.

Still happy with the development, but why market it at all as 170m/64s when there was little to no intent to do so.

Wasn't able to tune in for most of the hearing but am hearing the rezoning passed unanimously.

Biggest surprise of the hearing, apparently, is the revelation that another developer is looking to buy the parkade directly north with plans for another tower on 104 Street.

One can only hope about the parkade. That building is fraught with safety complaints.

Sounds like the 37-story north tower will be the first to start.

On the corner of 104th Street and 100th Avenue in the heart of downtown Edmonton, Falcon One is a 37 storey residential high rise tower which features striking world class architectural design in downtown’s most desirable central location. Falcon One is the first of Falcon Tower’s two phases, situated on the North portion of the site with 296 units.

Floorplans are now available on the site too:

I actually like what they did with the penthouse loft levels. Developers are starting to realize that the massive penthouse market in Edmonton is saturated. Hopefully some of these units are a little more affordable.
