Ice District Properties sells Edmonton Tower to Alberta pension manager
The company formed by the Katz Group and One Properties has sold the first office tower built in the Ice District to the Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo).

The Edmonton Tower at 10111 104 Ave. opened in late 2016 to accommodate 2,000 city staff as well as other tenants.

“AIMCo’s acquisition of Edmonton Tower in ICE District demonstrates a high degree of investor confidence in the city’s downtown real estate market and is a natural transaction in this multibillion-dollar development project,” Oilers spokesman Tim Shipton said in an email.

“Attracting world-class partners to ICE District has always been at the core of our business plan and this is yet another example.”

Ice District Properties announced the sale of the 27-storey building in a news release Thursday, saying AIMCo understands the Edmonton market and it’s positive to see such a “world-class investor” interested in the district’s development.
