You mean the former tourist office/centre and restaurant?

I'd still like to see this demolished and a new hotel, restaurant (with patio) and additional convention breakout rooms added to this space and even next door.

Yes that space. Although I don’t remember a restaurant ever being in that space. I believe there was a restaurant in the space right below this “bunker” in the 1980’s, in what is currently the River Valley Room. I think I went for dinner there once. I would love to see a restaurant in that space. Again a killer patio.

There is/was and it is pretty simple/basic.

What was wrong with the old canopy?

I didn't see anything particularly wrong with it, the new one might be a touch simpler and raised up higher which gives a more open look but doesn't protect from the elements as effectively.
