OEG needs to activate its plaza area better. I'm through there a lot now and nothing is usually happening and only a few people. Certainly shopping in the area is limited.

One of only a few people I saw this evening after walking through to Street Performer's festival was a skakeboarder.

Maybe they should set up some portable skateboard equipment one or two days a week and see the uptake. Or a full week and then bring in something else. Trial some different activities a week at a time during the summer.

This company does seasonal and even shorter temporary pickleball courts. Again, could set up several courts for a week or so.

And then basketball and so on.

It could be well advertised in advance - summer sport/rec series of activities.

In any event, more effort for something needs to be made.

You don’t need to activate as often if you just finish building the neighbourhood. Get the final few retail bays filled, build a 40 story rental tower above. Get the village going, and suddenly you have a lot more people walking around the plaza.

Our world has a lot of events. Sometimes we just need stuff to exist and be good without always having to be sold and promoted for events and activities (although those of course play a role).

Well none of what you suggest is happening this summer and a 40 storey building won't be finished until 2028.

So status quo I guess.

Missed opportunity in the meantime, I feel.

I also think the plaza isn't going to bring in people like hoped because there are so many banks., a liquor store and cannabis shop.

But perhaps those final couple retail bays will do the trick.

I almost never see anybody out on the patio at Braven and I never see that many people inside either. But outside, in particular, is often vacant.

Anybody else ever notice that? I wonder how well the restaurant is doing?

I feel like the inside hasn't felt empty when I've been in the past, but I've only dined there during the winter now that I think about it. I also haven't been super recently so perhaps things have changed.

I vowed to never dine at Braven again.
2 years ago I went there for Thanksgiving dinner but they ran out of turkey - what the actual eff?
IMO there are much better choices for steakhouses such as Vons or Coliseum Steak & Pizza.

Had lunch at Braven once, will never eat there again. The service was so bad, and the food was both expensive and of subpar quality. You would think they'd try hard for their office crowd. It's one of those places you're paying a certain price just because of where it is or what it's supposed to be.

I hope it gets new management and rebranding.

I understand that they want to lease these spaces and make money, but based on the vision they had (I recall someone at OEG mentioning "Vegas-north" in the early stages), I'm surprised they're just going all-in on financial institutions taking these prime CRUs.
ICE district is our new financial district lol. If that’s the case, what’s gonna end up in that former CIBC location? A Sabor?

It's a building with historical designation, therefore demolition is likely out of the question.
They could try to somehow integrate it more with Commerce Place. It's always been run separately from Commerce Place.

Separate ownership.
