Edmonton to be home to the first Brazil Hub in Western Canada

December 9, 2022 (Edmonton Metropolitan Region)—
Today in a joint announcement, the Chamber of Commerce Brazil-Canada (CCBC), alongside Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) announced that it will be establishing a Western Canada Brazil Hub at (CUE). The hub will provide a place for Brazilian companies and entrepreneurs to connect with potential business partners and infrastructure as well as research and development to integrate more efficiently into Alberta’s innovation ecosystem.

This announcement marks the Edmonton Metropolitan Region as the home of the first Brazil Hub in Western Canada. The partnership between the two organizations will build, strengthen, and enhance economic exchange between Brazil and Alberta. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed at the Robert Tegler Centre at Concordia’s campus this afternoon, to both announce and celebrate the new partnership.

This is cool too: PCL launches dedicated Solar division

"The Solar Operations will include offices in the United States, Canada and Australia, and will be responsible for estimating, design, performance analytics, solar-specific technology, project execution and in-house commissioning. PCL will self-perform 75% of the work on solar projects to gain greater control over project schedules and cost."

^what a crazy ride and would make an interesting doc or dramatic movie.
No doubt. Just the stories I heard just from when they built the Aurora Polaris facility are bananas. They spent FAR more than $50m on construction alone.

Some of the stories that I heard about execs, stock options, valuations, reporting were fantastical... mind you, much of the industry at the time was in a similar galaxy.

Doesn’t say who bought it.
Doesn't say what was bought or for what purpose given the land is owned by EIA aka the Federal Government. Given the building was constructed to be a greenhouse, I imagine that is the best (or only?) use for it. No doubt EIA was involved in entering a new contract for use of land. It's possible EIA may have bought it and may renovate & repurpose or demolish it to make room for another project like an office building to accommodate various businesses like Flair - but then if Flair is long term perhaps they could build their own hanger and offices.
