Pilings on the north side of the Henday

A rare five car U2 trainset on the Capital Line yesterday. The fifth car is hidden as I realized too late that there were five cars, but you can see the fifth pantograph.

They have been doing this for the last couple of weeks. It is just the odd train for some reason I can’t figure out how they determine which one. Running the Metro line trains to Century Park there by reducing frequency on the Capital Line has something to do with it I’m sure.

Could it be to keep capacity up on the south part of the main line while the north section is at reduced capacity because of the work at Coliseum?

Capacity on the South side is the same. 5 minutes with the 10 minute headways on each of the Capital and Metro lines. In fact, it's better than the 6 minutes the Capital Line alone runs at during regular operation.
Capacity issues are on the North end presumably with only 10 minute frequency.
5 cars trains are bumped down to 4 cars at the end of the AM peak.
