UCP fans live in a different reality.
Best of luck, Matthew! Is Marlin Schmidt not running for re-election?I have been considering provincial politics for some time. I am hoping to replace Marlin Schmidt in Edmonton-Gold Bar.
If anyone has gone through this process of seeking election, I would be happy to take you for lunch/dinner.
I'm ready to represent y'all, my name is Matthew C.X. Langford.
This has happened at numerous Alberta Next Panel's. A question is asked that goes against what the UCP wants and Bruce pipes up like a snide little child or the mic is cut off.I shouldn't be, but I continue to be annoyingly shocked by Smith's response to this.
Brutal, really. Can't believe they didn't even let the student finish his question, which in no way was disrespectful. And then insult him on top of it. And no one on the UCP panel says boo or stands up for him.
Apparently Nenshi is doing a live youtube talk with the high school student tonight.
Typical disgusting and revolting behaviour by Smitty’s henchmen……how do folks not see this as it is?I shouldn't be, but I continue to be annoyingly shocked by Smith's response to this.

Best of luck! I've only ran municipally, but I would warn you that it is one of the most stress-inducing things you can do. Lots of angry people will look for anything and everything available to come after you.I have been considering provincial politics for some time. I realize the moderators job is to try keep things on topic, but for most people there it may be their only chance to bring their concerns up to senior government officials.I shouldn't be, but I continue to be annoyingly shocked by Smith's response to this.

He should have been less heavy handed and more respectful to the person asking the question.
By starting a ton of capital projects but not really starting anything, they can hobble the next government with deficits or win votes because people want a YYC-YEG railway. So no real industry buy in and we will spend more money on something that doesn't get built. And when this fails to move along Dani can blame the feds. Just in time for the next election.
Makes as much sense.BC to apply to Major Projects Office for new Caribou Green Belt Corridor to northern Saskatchewan
No route yet determined for proposal province says it must lead as Caribou currently cannot. Premier Eby promises to consult with northern Alberta First Nations and conservation groups, has not talked to Alberta Premier.
Oh there seems to be few limits to how disrespectful they can be. Well for the UCP it is always someone else's fault - the city mayors for dwelling on issues the province would like to ignore, teachers for wanting to try catch up to inflation, the former AHS CEO for questioning their private health contracts ... It seems all these problems have only one common denominator - them!I mean, I would go A LOT further than saying he should have been more respectful. He was about as disrepectful as it gets. And less heavy handed? He didn't need to be heavy handed at all.
For the second time in about a month (the book banning being the first) this is making national and international news. This government is a true embarrassment.
And then Alberta cities get criticism from some for not working well with the province? I think this experience says it all.
