Alberta Politics

3pm...great time as everyone is at work.

All her unemployed minions who blame the Feds will be able to tune in and watch while us working folks will miss her message, just as she planned!

Is this what Smitty’s Drug addict penitentiary is going to look like in YEG?

EDIT**: now we where it's going and how much.

Our PM is trying to build a united front against the orange asshole in the USA and be rid of interprovincial trade barriers, but Smith doesn't want to play ball.
Ultimately it will be up to the people of Alberta to decide their future. Quebec had their vote, next year it might be our turn. Countries and civilizations do not last forever.

The vast majority of people except for a fringe minority are not for this and holding a referendum is a waste of taxpayers money.

This is akin to a toddler throwing a temper tantrum because their preferred party didn’t win. Instead of threatening separation they should be questioning why the CPC refuse to offer anything of substance to appeal to voters in Ontario and Quebec so that they can actually win an election.

Haha! Smitty’s Chief of Staff has a Dr’s note saying he has to fly 1st Class. You know when they go that far to justify spending our dollars on 1st Class….they know it’s wrong.

As Prime Minister Mark Carney prepared to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump, Premier Doug Ford took a thinly veiled shot at his Alberta counterpart over her threat of a referendum on separation.

“This is a time to unite the country, not people saying, ‘oh, I’m leaving the country,’” Ford said Tuesday morning in a speech to a group promoting the skilled trades.

The comment came a day after Alberta Premier Danielle Smith pledged to hold a referendum on provincial separation next year if citizens gather enough signatures on a petition.

“You know, united we stand, divided we fall and we have to be united, Canada together, to fight … President Trump’s tariffs and the economic uncertainty that he has created not just here but down in the U.S. as well,” continued Ford, who did not mention Smith or Alberta by name.

He suggested Smith’s dramatic move undercuts Carney at the White House meeting.

“We have a Prime Minister down there, and he’s going to be sitting down and he’s going to give it everything he can,” Ford said shortly before the sit-down with Trump.
