The long awaited new streetscape improvements from 99 or 100ave to 104ave on 106 and 107 streets is nearly ready to go. Tender ready next week actually and so we should expect to see this for 2025.

Luckily, even though the project page was scrubbed from the city website for some reason, the PDFs weren't. I threw them in the Wayback Machine to be safe.

Here are the concept designs from 2020 - they've probably changed a bit since then, but hopefully not too drastically.

Can't share drawings, but the design is nice... however, it's at the expense of a lot of parking it seems.

Fine by me, that area has a deluge of surface parking lots as it is. Any noticeable differences from the concept design?

They must be leaving the 106st work for last on this project. It's torn up and been prepped to go for reconstruction for a little while now.

I'm excited for this new one block boulevard though as renders show lots of flower beds and trees.

If it turns out well, hopefully a model for more dt streets down the line.

Does anyone know if 103 Avenue will ever be renewed? The whole thing looks like shit

My hunch is they might be waiting until more activity comes to the 103-104ave area? Focusing efforts on areas of higher foot traffic for now (jasper ave). Crazy how bad so much of our DT streets became in the 2010s. Glad we're updating them all. Just so slow.
