    Capital Line LRT

I loathe our sharp snappy station names such as "City Hall/Bow Valley College" and "SAIT/AUArts/Jubilee" (and the announcements spell out the entire thing "SAIT, Alberta University of the Arts, Jubilee Station" o_O why not spell out SAIT too while you're at it??)

I need some help for a project, would anybody know the exact depth of the pedway connecting Gov't Centre with the Legislature? Information about the dimensions of the station underground are hard to find... thx in advance

    Arc Smart Fare System

Don't think so. TransLink allows open payment for bank cards but that only pays your fare and opens the gate, it can't be used as a Compass token

    Arc Smart Fare System

I think that since the provincial fare card ship has sailed, the next best thing would be both Arc and MyFare allowing bank cards as account tokens. Even if you have to make two accounts you could use a single card between the two cities. I know this is in the 2023-26 timeline for Calgary, I'd...

    Valley Line LRT/ Valley Line West | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

Well you see, these were designed correctly 🤣 IIRC TransEd said in their fuckup explainer video that the lack of sufficient rebar and design of the Y to have all three points along one line meant that lateral forces from the trains would crack them. Presumably Marigold put enough rebar in these...

I bet emergency vehicles will be able to use the concrete track bed as a through way, it does have a mountable curb

Seems like all their new mfg has problems like the Ottawa Citadis and the Avelia Liberty

Well at least the conversations are happening for potential joint orders in the future for the high floor fleet: https://pub-edmonton.escribemeetings.com/filestream.ashx?DocumentId=102460 An advantage of S200s would be the fact that in the past 8 or so years of operation, Calgary Transit and SF...

I'm sure that a joint order could happen when it comes time to replace the original LRVs for the Valley and Green lines. Both systems use 7-segment LRVs Please for the sake of all that is holy, no Alstom products!! This has always been my dream, along with the U5-KR open gangway type sets...

I would bet they'd go with the Buffalo design style as Cleveland and St. Louis have. But beware, our order of an additional 26 S200s has been severely delayed from their 2020 delivery date. Siemens said they'd start arriving this year but now they might be more than 10 months away still ☹️

Unless you're as dumb as me and miss the first sign while an articulated bus blocks the second 🫣 Some red paint would easily solve this issue for other dunces Train is great though

EllisDon to Lead Prairie Link High-Speed Rail Partners - Edm-RD-Cal

A disaster of truly biblical proportions would have to happen for it to be tens of billions to be honest. ~250km extension of the Hokkaido Shinkansen has escalated to around $20 billion and a majority of the route is through mountain tunnels $30B USD CAHSR IOS I guess you could argue but you'd...

EllisDon to Lead Prairie Link High-Speed Rail Partners - Edm-RD-Cal

The main benefit of HSR would be economic development (bringing Edmonton and Calgary very close and international cool factor) if the private sector is paying for it I don't mind at all. I would like to see a publicly funded traditional rail service to run on the CP line to hit all the towns...

Down here we've got pathway crossings across two of CP's lines so there's precedence for CP to allow these

Not even 3 weeks ago I drove across that bridge in Osaka and thought to myself, "wow this thing looks a lot like the Walterdale bridge" 😂
