Agree to all points. - Edmonton only enforces laws that generate revenue. - Alberta wants to spend the least amount of money as possible to keep the province semi functional. - The Feds doesn't seem to think crime should be a punishable offense.

That's wild I've literally never thought of that before.

Edmonton City Centre Mall (Renovations) | ?m | 2s | LaSalle Investment Management

Malls are failing because I can just go on Amazon instead of dealing with people. This is amplified for the city center mall because now I have to drive down town which is a mess because we can't seem to understand phased approaches to infrastructure development. Then I have to park in the...

    Connect Centre | 56.3m | 16s | ONE Properties | DIALOG

I really don't care about incentives for developers to build things in the city. Realistically that's the only thing that is going to restart Edmonton's downtown. Well that and hopefully the new city council does literally anything to clean up the streets.

I'm ok with that, if Anne Stevenson wants to continue to bury her head in the sand about the just plain stupid state of downtown then privatized parks it is.

    Bonnie Doon Mall Redevelopment | ?m | ?s

I've got an honest question. Doesn't transit oriented communities really even matter in Edmonton? Most people don't work downtown and if you were to use it to say commute from Clairview to Millwoods it would take twice as long as driving... What's the upside?

    Bonnie Doon Mall Redevelopment | ?m | ?s

Reminds me of the Kingsway stop that isn't even close to Kingsway.

This has almost turned into a signature Edmonton style. A bleh monotone building with a sort of squiggle of colour and narrow windows.

Yeah they did, I have a buddy that works in that building and homeless were using it as a washroom, the people working in the building complained and they shut it down.

Those windows will provide lovely views of the new gravel parking lot being built.

Lived in SG in Alexandria for a few years while working on a project. Typically from what I saw there is so much influx of renovation or new builds particularly around Orchid that buildings are forced to refresh to stay competitive. Doesn't really apply to the government apartments.

The entire building needs one. A part of me wishes we were like Singapore where all the older buildings that are not historical must be updated.

We could, but we don't do anything about social decay.

Don't remind me of our non-existent summer this year.

Yeah it looks great, gives me Vancouver vibes for some reason. Just need to keep the social decay away.
