    Downtown Real Estate

Indeed, why did they even setup a website when there's absolutely zero details to put on it? None of the links even work lol

    Metro 78 | 23m | 6s | Pinto Properties | Frank Hilbich

There happened to be some activity when I went by today actually! Barricades around the trees, and the MUP is blocked off, looks like they are doing some drainage work. I think some more machinery has shown up as well, there seems to be more than the 2 that were sitting there after they did the...

    Wrong thread, it's here: https://edmonton.skyrisecities.com/forum/threads/windsor-heights-88m-25s-westrich-pacific-corp.40976/page-3#post-2192495

Interesting! Hopefully it features lower rent for the same unit size/amenities as other buildings, to demonstrate that open-option parking is a good thing.

Amazing photo 🤩 Side note: I hope they take down the "RENT FALCON" signage soon, it's so tacky.

    Edmonton Infills and Housing Projects

Fingers crossed that is included in the revised design for the Shift, which we should be seeing soon-ish!

    Blatchford

These are 1 bedroom units though, while all the other townhouses in the area are 2 or 3 bedroom. Sure a couple could live in those, but they will generally be occupied by families of 3-5 people, while these bungalow units will be limited to 2 people. Also if you check out the floorplan, the...

    Blatchford

His point is that you need a minimum amount of density to support a walkable neighbourhood, which is the goal of Blatchford. Yes Edmonton has plenty of space for bungalows, but they should be built in other areas that don't have this objective.

I'm 99% sure these were made in Sketchup so it's a bit of a stretch to even call them renderings 😄 😄

Sent them an email and got an updated render, looking better than that old one from the website: Will be interesting to see how this turns out! Fencing just went up on the site within the past month or so, no other activity yet.

Another small TOD happening near University! Very amateur looking developer which doesn't inspire a lot of confidence, but I don't hate the design. Seems to have decent sized windows, ground-level units, and a rooftop patio: Some (outdated) renders from their website...

    Army & Navy Redevelopment | ?m | 6s | Edgar

https://dailyhive.com/edmonton/sneak-peek-future-army-navy-building-edmonton Looks like they will be splitting up the main floor into 4 CRUs with large units at the back (entrance on Calgary trail) and in the basement. Possible closure of the alley on the west side of the building for a patio...

    Miscellaneous

What are the "Tessco issues"? Something that affects all of the various "gates" style buildings? I also find them quite interesting and might consider living in one at some point. Something to avoid if one was looking for a unit to buy?

    Winspear Centre Completion Project | 29.87m | 4s | Winspear Centre | Andrew Bromberg

Sadly you're probably right. They might even be above using the unclean public parkade

    Winspear Centre Completion Project | 29.87m | 4s | Winspear Centre | Andrew Bromberg

Why did they add a $9m parkade? Library parkade is right across the street and has plenty of space, and it's directly next to all three LRT lines. That seems absurd, especially after the city removed parking minimums and has goals of reduced car trips.

    Downtown

At the very least we should add vehicle sensors to all advance turn arrows, to avoid pedestrians having to wait for no reason if there's no cars turning. It would also help prevent situations where the arrow starts flashing and a car races up from a block away to catch it, I'm sure a lot of...

ETS Bus and General Transit Improvements

the youth fare age eligibility will adjust to 18 years and under. This means riders aged 19-24 years, who were previously eligible for the youth fare category, will now be in the standard adult fare category I think that's a bad move, we should be keeping transit fares as low as possible for...
