There’s actually almost no difference at all with respect to distance or time. The key difference is that from Heritage Valley going eastbound, the route is almost all freeway (and will be free-flow going westbound after they build an all-directional interchange at Heritage Valley Trail sometime...

StatsCan puts everything south of Leduc County outside of the Edmonton CMA, so take from that what you will, but it definitely feels as much within our cachement area as Wabamun Lake (and you could feasibly run a regional rail line out there).

Yeah, if they’re gonna talk like this, now would be a great time for them to pitch in money to widen the entire Henday and the Yellowhead to 6 lanes, convert the QE2 into a collector-express freeway, and maybe even convert 91st Street, Manning, Ray Gibbon and Terwillegar into full freeways 😉

I badly want that parkade on the east gone. It creates such a dead zone on the street.

The Downtown tunnel can accommodate 2.5-minute headways, so each line can be run with 5-minute frequencies.
