Spruce Grove Metro Ballpark | ?m | ?s | Gold Sports And Entertainment

I’m curious about what this place will be like a few seasons after it’s opened, the downtown ball park has had a revolving door of teams throughout my life and it’s going to be tough for a second amateur/semipro baseball team to carve its place in the YEG sports scene

Valley Line LRT | TransEd/Marigold | City of Edmonton

The west extension certainly has more destinations along the route compared to the south east valley line like brewery, west ed, macewan, and 124th so I think its pretty easy to predict that it will generate way more daily rides than the SE section. Even just the fact that it will serve Edmonton...

    New Stadium / Arena?

Realistically Edmonton is never getting an MLS team, CPL would work in Edmonton with a purpose built ground. Edmonton needs to bite the bullet and replace Commonwealth with a new 30-40 thousand seat stadium. No team in Edmonton will ever need a 50-60 thousand seat retractable roof stadium (Even...

    Miscellaneous

Spotted this in front of the house on the lot next to the Clifton site. Maybe it’s old or I missed it but I haven’t seen it mentioned anywhere. I thought it was for the Clifton at first but it doesn’t match up, Looks like a mini Clifton

    Blatchford

Along with pretty quick progress on the pilot townhomes they are also digging basements on the street nearest to the pond.

    Stationlands Residential Towers | 90m | 25s | Qualico | DIALOG

so that means the tower will be scaled back quite a bit from the original 25 stories?

    Stantec Tower | 250.84m | 66s | ICE District Prop.

Is it possible the issue with having one was the fact that it’s residential at the top and there would be issues with needing another elevator shaft up to an observation deck separate from the private residential ones?

    Epic Square | ?m | 2s | Epic Investment Services

2 brand new Starbucks just opened 5 mins apart on the West end in the stony plain road area west of 170th. Starbucks seems to have a bit of the Subway business model in them where they will open as many as possible and let the market weed them out.

    Lotus Park | 20.2m | 6s | Westrich Pacific | J+S Architect

Lots of brick in the finishes could look really good!

    10308 116 Street | ?m | ?s | Leston Holdings | Arc Studio

Seems like they are using an unusual building technique, they’ve got the second floor up in lots of spots without much of any supports, just temporary braces

    The Quarters

100% agree. The perception of the neighbourhood and surrounding neighbourhoods will never change if we continue to concentrate all of the regions social services there. I’m still waiting for the day that St. Albert, Sherwood park, spruce grove etc. start pulling their weight and start providing...

    10507 to 10539–124 Street NW - Casia Developments - 2 x up to 27 - Proposed

I think what adds to the character of the neighbourhood is the carousel of stores opening and closing because there aren't enough residents in the area to support them all so we should keep units to a minimum 🤡

    10507 to 10539–124 Street NW - Casia Developments - 2 x up to 27 - Proposed

More than 2 stories for the podium/connector of the towers is fine depending on what they do with it and how it’s shaped.

    Falcon Towers | 170m | 44s | Langham Developments | Arc Studio

I definitely may be wrong, but my understanding was that they consider the vacant commercial space as a loss of revenue for tax write offs and the value of those write off is worth enough to the companies that they would rather hold out until they can find a tenant at their high prices rather...

    Falcon Towers | 170m | 44s | Langham Developments | Arc Studio

I believe it's mainly for tax benefits.

    Bateman Lands Mid-Rise | 34m | 8s | Bateman Properties | Next Architecture

It's obviously nowhere near as nice as the other renderings, but if the window sizes stay true to the new renderings and the siding materials are decent then it's not going to be an awful building.

    Blatchford

Hopefully they start on it soon, seems like the perfect next step for the neighborhood!

    Lotus Park | 20.2m | 6s | Westrich Pacific | J+S Architect

We can safely assume it will be more affordable than a luxury architectural marvel
