I assume if they're bringing back possibly saving it, considering how close they were to demo-ing it, that they have a general idea of a few of the proposals they are going to get, no?
I mean, to be fair, in general the new neighbourhoods that are developing are actually pretty dense. I don't think it needs to be a binary one or the other issue.

WIfe and I sat in those chairs for about an hour this week. They are a fantastic feature and I'd love to see something like this plaza in Edmonton. The riverwalk in Calgary has so much nice infrastructure (wide walkways, what a concept). The City needs to send some staff/consultants down there...
I imagine they couldn't refund the money even if they wanted to since it's probably already spent. Rumours of them not paying their contractors and their GC has a large construction lien on the title.

I attended the Alberta's Passenger Rail Master Plan virtual session this evening. Sharing some of the interesting information/slides below.
The plan is to continue working so they can present the findings to the government in the fall for consideration in Budget 2026.

Remediation is generally being conducted as buildings are torn down and/or the areas being prepared for development (e.g. site grading). I haven't heard of it being a significant road block to date.
And as far as I am aware, none of the remediation is due to radioactive materials.
